Eat My Street Online Cooking Club

Eat My Street Online Cooking Club

For years I have wanted to start my own cooking club.

I have a vision of a group of people all turning up somewhere simple and cosy bearing pots of pasta, crunchy bread and dishes of bubbling casserole. Everyone would share what they had already made before joining in the final preparations together.

My recent reading of Marlena De Blasi’s Umbrian Supper Club only made this desire more potent. If you haven’t read it, you should. I lingered slowly over each page, willing the story to go on for longer and pausing every few days to try out something new in my own kitchen.

Unfortunately my life seems to move in the direction that makes this little club increasingly less likely. So instead I thought I might launch an online cooking club and I would love you to join in!

How it works

Each month their will be a new theme that I will cook to. To start with I am going to cook from Robyn Eckhardt’s Istanbul and Beyond.

I will post photos and try new recipes, gradually increasing my repertoire over time. I will write a little bit once a month about what I have made.

If anyone wants to join in, they too can take photos and cook to the theme.

If you want to write a blog post then you can leave a link and I would love to read it. Otherwise photos, comments and questions would be greatly welcome. These will go on Facebook  and Instagram. I am open to suggestions and emails are always warmly welcomed.

If no one joins in, that is Ok too as I really love learning new recipes and I think I should enjoy the process anyway.

I have had some great ideas for themes.

What would you add?

You can cook out of cook books or from your memory and you can join in with words or images.

Either way I would love you to get on board.

Let’s try to increase our repertoire of recipes together.

Happy Eating.
