65gramsof butter
1/2cupof brown sugar
1/2cupof cream
pinchof salt

Cream butter and sugar, add well beaten eggs and vanilla.
Stir in the sifted flour and salt, alternating with the milk.
Spread in a well buttered tin.
Cut peeled and cored apples into slices, and arrange on top of batter.
Sprinkle with cinnamon, sugar and spice.
Cake in a good oven (175 degrees) for 30 -40 minutes.
For the caramel.
Melt butter gently over low heat before adding the sugar and stirring until it is dissolved. Add cream and salt and mix until smooth. Serve with cream and caramel.
