“If you go down to the woods today, you’re sure of a good surprise.”
Spring (we are nearly there) is the perfect time of year to visit Carlei Green Vineyards Winery and Cafe. Pop in from 11am on a Sunday morning for wine tasting, or from 12 midday to order from their menu.
The wine’s here seem to have had their day in the sun and even earned their maker, none other than Sergio Carlei himself, a mention in the James Halliday wine companion in the past. I have had a cheeky little taste of their whites and also imbibed a few glasses of the stuff. Quite good, although I am no wine expert.
Their pizza though is superb.Â
We have been out to their Vineyard a handful of times and we have often taken friends with us.
The service is friendly and the scenery is amazing. The kids really settle in here for a meal nicely too with good eating options and plenty of space.
It is a bit of a favourite for one of those lovely, languishing Sunday lunches with friends.
Get onto it!
Happy Eating.
