Kubo and the Two Strings Review

Kubo and the Two Strings Review

I was delighted to be invited along to the Melbourne International Festival Kids Gala opening of Kubo and the Two Strings on the weekend.

Proudly sponsored by the delicious Cobs Popcorn, this was an extra special event because I got to bring along not only my eleven year old daughter but my sister and her daughter too.

Kubo and the Two Strings was a great movie with a big sweeping storyline and a stunning setting. It made me cry and it made me laugh and it made me feel a little scared too.

Thanks to some very exciting adventures, little Kubo learns that as humans we have the magic ability to always keep people alive in our memories. I have learnt that lesson myself through my own set of adventures and so the story really resonated with me.

My daughter and I also both learnt that man cannot live on popcorn alone, although we definitely tried.

So many great lessons. 🙂

Kubo and the Two Strings was a fantastic movie although your children are bound to find it scary, so you might not want to take the little ones.

Take a look at the official trailer.

PS We got to walk the red carpet which was pretty fun although I do tend to get a startled look in my eye when someone I don’t know takes my photo.

So then we decided to take a few photos ourselves.

Having just seen Absolutely Fabulous the movie the night before, I thought I’d try out my “Thursday” pout.

We had a lot of fun hanging out together and enjoying the festivities before the movie started. 🙂
