Last night we were invited along to a secret dinner in Warburton to celebrate the first birthday of the Yarra Valley’s premiere catering group, Locavore Studio. The wonderful, talented and gorgeous Jessie launched her cooking school and catering company in Lilydale one year ago after returning from her adventures overseas. Last night Locavore Studio teamed up with the fabulous team behind the event space Projekt 3488 to celebrate this very special occasion in style.

There was amazing food and wine with a focus on local ingredients prepared with an eye for innovation, detail and the balance of flavours that is a hallmark of Jessie’s time in the kitchen.

Projekt 3488 is an event space to remember. Designer and owner Mark Fenech has created a stunning and elegantly functional space all set within the most beautiful and peaceful manicured gardens. The large upstairs area opens out onto a timber deck with stunning views of the surrounding mountains juxtaposed by the delicate reflective pools below. Down the original spiral staircase you will find a large dining hall with two long timber banqueting tables that are able to concertina back into he walls to create more space in the room. This building was once the local Masonic Hall and Mark has restored it with delicate restraint in order to create such a modern and bold space whilst retaining an intricate and historic charm.

I had a fabulous night and met some amazingly talented people including Rebecca Morton from Alchemy 7 who opened the night serenading the stars in a stunning sculptural copper gown designed by Amanda Hills and Michael Gray.

Happy Birthday to the talented team at Locavore Studio. I look forward to seeing what they will do next.

    1. Good Morning. Thanks for the info. I have included it now. Do you want to take a look again and just make sure I have it all right? You did such a fabulous job and that copper dress was a highlight of the evening. Dani
