D.O.C. Pizza and Mozzarella Bar is Melbourne pizza at its best. Opened in 2007 D.O.C. Pizza and Mozzarella Bar was at the centre of the pizza revolution that Melbourne had to have. Gone were the thick doughy pizza bases covered in shredded spam and plastic cheese and in their place was the light, chewy pizza bases covered in a few simple and excellent ingredients. Prosciutto, artisan mozzarella, rich and fragrant tomato covered bases. This is pizza as the Italians created it and finally it could be found in Melbourne.
At D.O.C. Pizza bar in Melbourne you can also eat your excellent pizza curb-side and have it served to you by charming Italian wait staff. This is a very busy restaurant with a no booking policy but no one seems to mind. Join the consistently moving queue on the pavement outside this gorgeous Drummond Street building and indulge in a little people watching until it is your turn to grab a seat. You won’t regret the wait because the menu is that good.

An excellent Radicchio, fennel, orange, walnut and gorgonzola salad $14.90. One of the 8 salad options on the menu and the perfect accompaniment to the salty, creamy pizza.
The simply perfect combination of sweet, rich tomato, mozzarella and basil on the Pizza Margherita. $16.90

One of my favourite pizza places anywhere! Love the look of the radicchio salad, might have to go with that one next time!
Yes I agree Jess. Probably best in Melbourne I say! The radicchio salad was a great accompaniment. The D.O.C. espresso deli was a little slice of heaven too! So many yummy foods.
