Round Bird Can’t Fly in Lilydale
On the Main street of Lilydale presides the propitiously named cafe, Round Bird Can’t Fly. If the cute little name does not win you over, then the decor will. Round Bird Cant Fly is all gleaming whites and copper tones, bedecked in flowers (fresh fig bouquets on the day I visited) and freckled with the ultimate epicurious decor, great food.
Ricotta Dumplings with mascarpone, lemon curd and cinnamon crumble for starters. This is not your every day breakfast menu rather it is a menu dominated by interesting combinations with an A+ for effort. Take a look at the Round Bird Can’t Fly menu for more information.
On the day I visited I ordered the Brioche French Toast with macerated berries and chai ice-cream. French toast makes me all nostalgic and this berry drenched brioche version has done nothing to mitigate my sentimentality.
There was also a lovely Kids Menu, which always makes me happy. The lovely toasted ham, cheese & tomato sandwich was happily devoured by my little man.
Coffee was hot, strong and delicious and served in Le Creuset.
The menu changes regularly and is full of tempting options. The service was prompt and the cafe has a happy buzz to it.
A visit to Round Bird Can’t Fly is a perfect way to start your day.
